Dear Colleagues, Aloha and welcome to the 66th Kimbrough meeting to be held in Kona, Hawaii -  on the Big Island. Kona is known for its Hawaiian authenticity and natural beauty. The airport (KOA) is very accessible and about a 25 minute drive to the hotel.  Please book your room early as we expect they will sell-out quickly. The hotel property is big and beautiful and offers an incredible array of activities and water sports. In addition to a robust scientific program, we are planning a number of exciting social activities to make this a great overall meeting experience. All urology professionals and spouse/guests are welcome to share in our tradition of excellence and enjoy an outstanding program.  Please make plans to join us in January. On 22 oceanfront acres at sunny Keauhou Bay on the Kona Coast of Hawaii's Big Island, this resort offers cultural programs, spa and fitness center, tennis, fantasy pool, waterslide, meeting facilities, business center, wireless high-speed internet access throughout, a teen lounge, and children's creativity center.  Observe Manta Rays each evening from the resort's special viewing area. Island cuisine featured at 3 restaurants, 1 coffee shop and a weekly luau. Golf is available at adjacent course, Kona Country Club.

Keauhou Express Trolley:  Take the trolley from Sheraton Kona to Keauhou Shopping Center, Magic Sands Beach Park, Kailua Pier, Kona Commons Shopping Center and various spots in between. Transfers are included in your daily resort service charge (or $2 per transfer for non-guests).


Airport & Ground Transportation

Keahole International Airport (KOA) is located about 11 miles north of Kailua-Kona proper and 20 miles south of the Kohala resorts, and has an abundance of rental car agencies. There is an airport shuttle service, and taxis and limos are available. There is no free airport shuttle offered by any hotel. Estimate $35 per person for taxi/shuttles to Kona.

Taxi, Uber, and Lyft on the Big Island:

The shared ride services Uber and  Lyft are available on the Big Island since March 2017. To use either of these services you need to install their respective apps on your smartphone and register a credit card.

Optional Sunset Cocktail Cruise - Friday, 4:30pm - 6:30pm
Don’t miss the opportunity to join the group for a private 2 hour cruise on board the Fairwind II Catamaran and see the Kona Coast in style. This is a 60 foot beautiful 2 story vessel with shade and sun areas, nice restrooms, very comfortable seating and lots of room to relax, have fun and enjoy the scenery. Departing from historic Keauhou Bay located a short 5 minute walk from the Sheraton Kona. Children 12 and under are free but child seats are limited so please register early. Cost includes hosted bar and pupu's during the cruise. Seating is limited for this special sunset cruise.
